Internal Medicine

Could an underlying illness or injury be impacting your pet’s quality of life?

When people get sick or hurt, they call the doctor, explain their symptoms and receive the appropriate treatment. With pets, it’s not always this straightforward. Because our animal friends can’t speak, they can’t let us know when something is bothering them.

What’s more, many animals are able to hide the signs of illness. This allows it to develop and worsen as it continues to go undetected.

Veterinary diagnostics enable us to identify and treat health problems in a timely manner. Faster diagnosis of injury or illness can dramatically improve your pet’s chances of a positive outcome.

Laboratory

The on-site diagnostic laboratory at Olympia Veterinary Hospital makes it fast and efficient to run a broad spectrum of tests. In many cases, we can have the answers we need in just minutes. This enables us to establish a treatment plan before you and your pet even leave the exam room.

Diagnostic Imaging

When a physical exam and laboratory testing aren’t enough to reach a diagnosis, we turn to advanced imaging technology, such as x-rays and ultrasound. These tools enable us to examine the bones and internal organs, identifying injuries, diagnosing illness and determining its severity.

Images can be evaluated by our doctors in real-time or shared electronically with specialists if necessary.

If your best friend has been acting a bit out of sorts lately, don’t take chances. Give the dedicated professionals at Olympia Veterinary Hospital a call right away. We’ll get to the bottom of the problem and get your companion back on the path to good health again.
